The Night Is Coming!

This year our tour with No Longer Music had to be one of the most intense tours so far.

We experienced a riot after our show in Zurich, Switzerland, one of our dancers could have died from a serious skin infection that flared up during our time in Ukraine, we were threatened by paramilitary groups in Russia, and these are only some of the challenges we faced. Yet despite these difficulties we were able to play for thousands of people and many gave their lives to Jesus! But in every country we performed I felt this urgency like I have never felt before.

Jesus said in John 9:4, “As long as it’s day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming when no one can work.”
Jesus is speaking with a sense of urgency because yes, the day is here now, but the night is coming soon.

While we were on tour in Russia they passed a law that made it illegal to preach the Gospel publicly and even forbid bible studies and prayer meetings in private homes. A Russian pastor told us that they had become lazy and self focused in their churches because they thought the freedom they had after the fall of the Soviet Union would be there forever. Because of this they became inward and self indulgent - just concerned about how they could live more and more comfortable lives. He said he now realised that they should have take every opportunity they had to proclaim Jesus.

They wasted the window of opportunity God had given them to proclaim the Gospel in Russia. He said that they needed God to forgive them for not speaking when they could.

We need to make the most of every chance we get because the truth is that the opportunities we have today can be gone tomorrow. I think it’s a scandal when I waste the precious opportunities God gives me as an artist to tell people the truth. The world is burning and people are being crucified. People are being slaughtered by the world’s lies. In the western world now the majority of the children born now are born out of wedlock, the world is raised on pornography, marriage is being redefined, the very fabric of society is being destroyed, and we still have discussions about how we shouldn’t have to have a message in our art!!!

God have mercy on us.

The night is coming. When will I speak? How can I not when the world is on fire. I need to change my priorities, and ask God to show me his broken heart for the world. I need to fall on my knees and cry out to him, asking him how I can use the creative talents he has given me to rescue as many as I can. Jesus said the night is coming, and we need to work while we still can.

For a time is coming soon when no one can work.
