Can I celebrate the success of others?

Every summer for the past decade, I have gone on tour with No Longer Music. This has become so embedded into my routine; it’s hard to imagine life any other way. I believe this is what God has put me on earth to do.

Still, even a call from God can be corrupted.
For many Christian artists, the Gospel has gone out of style. In some cases, it's even seen as a negative thing. It may never be said that explicitly, but the Gospel is seen as “too intense” or “fundamental” or “old-school,” somehow less sophisticated, and not appropriate for our modern times.
Jesus’ well-known “two paths” analogy is one of his most famous and certainly one of his most haunting. Jesus’ message is simple: eternity is real, and we all have a choice to make. Either we will spend all of eternity with God or without Him.

'Good' and 'Hard' always go together

We have a family motto, “good and hard always go together”. I heard this all the time growing up. Maybe this doesn’t seem like such a revolutionary thought, but this simple concept has had an enormous impact on my life.
Jesus said in Matthew 9:37 that “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”  Looking around it’s obvious that these words are as relevant now as when Jesus first spoke them. As followers of Jesus we are called to make a difference, and yet there have never been enough workers for all the work there is to be done.

To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere

I sat down to start writing this blog but then my phone buzzed, Instagram declared “you have a new follower!” - awesome. Ok back to writing, but first, I need more coffee. I filled my cup, I exhaled, and thought “ok, let’s do this…” I wrote two sentences before a “ding,” signaling the arrival of a new email, broke my concentration..” I'll just see what it is, and then go back to writing…”

Enemies of Impact
